Nuts with a metric thread are used both as drive and movement threads, but above all as fastening threads. Metric threads are also known under the names ISO threads, metric ISO threads, normal threads, pointed threads, metal threads or machine threads.
The outer edges of the metric thread converge in a wedge shape. Metric threads are self-locking. The flank angle is 60 degrees.
Depending on the pitch, a distinction is made between standard, coarse and fine threads.
Metric threads are mainly used in dynamic applications (drive spindles) when small diameters and / or small pitches are required. Metric spindles are also very common, which is why production is usually very economical.
Compared to trapezoidal screw drives, metric screw drives have a poorer efficiency and higher wear. The trapezoidal thread is therefore preferable for high speeds or very high mileage.
We supply metric threaded nuts in various diameters and pitches. The threaded nuts also differ in their direction of rotation, accuracy, material or strength class, and surface treatment.
We supply standard nuts according to DIN / ISO, but also every type of special nut. Injection molded nuts with metric threads are also part of our delivery program. We import large quantities from Sein, provided that the complexity of the components allows this.
Typical designs for metric threaded nuts as fastening threads are hexagon nuts, self-locking nuts, safety nuts, cap nuts, square nuts, spacer nuts, ring nuts, wing nuts, knurled nuts, drive-in nuts, press-in nuts, round nuts, screw-in nuts, sleeve nuts, cage nuts, lock nuts, lock nuts, lock nuts. Square nuts and plastic nuts.
